The science festival takes place in Genoa from 23 october to 1st november, with hundreds of events, conferences, workshop, exhibition, film and much more. The exhibition " A phoenix from the flames"....

for the science festival moves from Galata maritime Museum to Arenzano, in the Science Centre Muvita. Muvita is the first science centre in Italy totally dedicated to the relationship between human beings, energy and climate.

The exhibition is about the explosion of the Haven petrol tank, in the Genoa petrol port  in april 1991, creating an environmental disaster for the sea and the locals.  The exhibition  shows trhough panels,plastic models the disaster and the revenge of life after many years. It proposes to new generations to think about marine pollution, environmental disaster and about the paper that science and scientific research had in the cleaning up of the sea water and in the monitoring in the following years. for more information and programme of science festival visit: www.festivalscienza.it

The path has also workshops about cleaning up of the marine water  from hydrocarbons with a learning model of skimmer oil. Some picuters recently taken show how a marine habitat, if properly reclaimed, can repopulate and create a pefect place for life and biodiversity.
