Are there wrecks on sea bottoms?

The sea bottom is literally covered with wrecks! If you think that human beings have been navigating from more than 10.000 years, imagine how many boats have sunk! Recovering a shipwreck is a huge work, and a very expensive one. That´s the reason why not so many wrecks get fished out.
Modern instruments like sonars, cameras and radars help monitoring wrecks that archaeologists or authorities may decide to leave submersed. In such cases, wrecks may become exciting dive locations and underwater archaeological sites.

Is there historical stuff on deep bottoms?

The bottom of the sea is full of very interesting things. You can find wrecks of planes, submarines and many kinds of boat belonging to any period and time. Even a wooden boat from the past can survive more than 1000 years under the sand!!! But also is possible to find different things as weapons, like  unexploded bombs, ore more ancient cannons, swords, scaffoldings and many other things fallen into the water during the battles of the past.

Are seas dangerous?

Seas and oceans may be very dangerous, and deserve huge respect when we sail, dive or even swim. In the ancient times, in every country and culture, the god or the goddess of the sea was always somebody big, powerful, and particularly nervous and cranky.  Actually, seas may appear in this way, something that changes suddenly, from very calm to very stormy.

Are there submerged cities? What about Atlantis?

Of course there are! Baia is an ancient submerged town laying just in front of Naples, in the Mediterranean Sea. Port Royal is a Caribbean one. And you can find many more! As far as Atlantis is concerned, the legend deals with an island (or even an entire continent) that disappeared to the depths in one day and one night. The event was reported by Plato, the famous Greek philosopher living in the IV Century BC, and may refer to Santorini, in the Aegean Sea. How can submarines stand water pressure? How many people can live there?

Submarines can stand water pressure thanks to their shape. As submarines are roughly ovoidal or "rounded", pressure is equally distributed on their whole surface. In a few words, an object having a round shape stands much more pressure than a squared one. But of course a submarine cannot go deeper and deeper.
