More than 70% of our world is actually covered by water, a fascinating realm that produces one third of the oxygen we breath and hosts more than 140.000 different species of animals, plants and algae plus a still unclear number of microbial forms of life. Such immense biodiversity is due to the oceans’ long history and to a plethora of different habitats, which fostered extremely diversified evolutionary pathways.Read more

Welcome submarine Nazario Sauro-Galata Museo del Mare

Nazario Sauro S-518, a submarine belonged to the italian navy, gets to Genoa's Harbour, in front of Galata Maritime Museum. Built in 1976, disarmed in 2001, now is going to become a floating museum.Nazario Sauro is the first submarine that you can visit on the water! The submarine can be visited from spring 2010!
